Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 10:43PM I had another fun engagement session last week - this time with Jess and Dan, and Cookie...their dog :) Cookie was awesome! She posed, smiled, and was very well-behaved! Jess and Dan were pretty well-behaved too :) The session was a lot of fun - can't wait for the wedding!

Monday, April 7, 2008 at 12:36PM Finally! After rescheduling twice due to rain, we were finally able to do Deb and Bryan's engagement session Monday morning in Washington, D.C. - we even made it in time to capture some shots with the Cherry Blossoms in bloom. It was a chilly, rainy morning and everything was wet from the rain on Sunday, but Deb and Bryan were troopers and thier shoot turned out great!

Personal Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 12:51PM This past Monday I had the pleasure of attending Corey McNabb and Amber Holritz's RockStar Roadtrip workshop in DC - and I am so glad I did. One of my goals for 2008 was to attend some photography seminars and/or workshops to gain some perspective of the photography industry from successful photographers and learn more about the business-side of the biz from some of the best - and Corey and Amber certainly are great at what they do. Corey's forte is Wedding Photography, so this is what he focused on during the workshop - he definitely shed some light on new ideas that I am excited to give a try. Amber focused on Lifestyle Portraiture (her forte), and this is something I'm looking to try out - it is basically spending some time in clients' homes and taking pictures of them doing whatever it is they do - basically, it's candid photography (but better!). Missy follows some photographers that do this, and she has said for a while now that this is something she would be interested in having done (with our family). I have some families lined up to give this a shot - I'll post the sessions and you can let me know what you think!
So the workshop was informative and definitely worthwhile - it was also nice to meet some other photographers in the area (what a small world - I actually sat next to a photographer that knew Missy from the Love Affair workshop she was supposed to attend this past Feb (but didn't)...). Thank you Corey and Amber - the workshop was great!

Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at 10:43PM The other day I had the privilege of shooting publicity shots for an independent Jewish Community High School in the Baltimore area. I (along with my super-assistant Jackie) spent all day with some wonderful students, teachers and Rabbis and got a chance to capture them in action: learning, teaching and mentoring. This is a fairly new school, and a fairly small school, but wow - what a great learning environment! The bonds between the students themselves, the students and the teachers, and the students with the school was very apparent, and unique (well, at least NOTHING like my high school). Hopefully I was able to capture the heart of the school - can't wait to go back!
